Technical Services is a high-potential growth area for basys and we are looking for a superior candidate to take this group to the next level. The chosen candidate will bring to the position extensive UNIX knowledge of IT technology, infrastructure and customer service along with a strong leadership mindset. This candidate will be a hands on leader with accountability of all aspects of customer Technical Services, including project management and execution, customer support, SAAS infrastructure, customer disaster recovery, and basys product development support.
Key responsibilities:
- Responsibility for all customer technical services projects executed by the team such as technical environment configuration and sizing, hardware installation, UNIX (and Microsoft) operating system installation and upgrades, and Hyland imaging implementations
- Direct the Technical Services Support team and have accountability for timely support issue resolution and customer satisfaction
- Architect and execute basys customer disaster recovery strategy and operations
- Design and manage SAAS infrastructure operations to support basys’ premier SAAS solutions set
- Provide dynamic leadership and direction to the Technical Services Team and be responsible for ensuring the accurate, timely, cost-effective execution and delivery of services utilizing best practices and procedures
- Manage relationships with hosting and other infrastructure vendors
- Develop the business unit by continuously looking for new service offerings to provide basys customers with great value and positive revenue opportunities for the Company
- Responsibility for P&L of the department
- Develop programs and tools to monitor our customer’s technical performance
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or related technical discipline
- 7 or more years of IT experience, and at least 3+ years of leading technical services team
- Extensive knowledge of Unix hardware installation, configuration procedures and implementing best practices. Experience in Windows environments is also preferred
- Solaris System Administration certification or course completion preferred
- Experienced in site/application optimization, recovery strategies and implementation of high availability infrastructure
- Demonstrated understanding and practical experience with network security design and security principles
- Experience managing enterprise support systems (monitoring, backup, etc)
- Experience designing and implementing high availability systems
- Demonstrated ability to successfully manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proven ability to implement new standards and processes as well as standardize systems already in place
- Extensive knowledge of hardware installation, configuration procedures and implementing best practices. Experience in both Unix and Windows environments is highly preferred.
